MY STAFF
Brad Usher has served as Senator Krueger's Chief of Staff since 2002. Among the issues he primarily focuses on are government and election reform, budgeting, and economic development. He is also responsible for coordinating general legislative, issue and constituent work for Senator Krueger. Prior to joining Senator Krueger's staff, Brad worked for State Senator Tom Duane. He received his PhD in Political Science from the New School for Social Research in 1999.
Kyle Sklerov, Press/Communications Liaison
Kyle joined Senator Krueger's staff in April 2008. He had previously worked for NYPIRG at Hunter College, where he organized and trained students to advocate on issues like more affordable higher education and environmental awareness. He also received a B.A. in Politics from New York University in 2005. Kyle is thrilled to be a part of Senator Krueger's team as he and his wife have lived in her district for the past 3 years.
Susan Chamlin, Community Liaison/Policy Analyst
Ms. Chamlin has worked in the field of health care policy and delivery of services for over 25 years. For much of that time she was involved in health services through educational training and legislative initiatives. She is a co-author of Straight Talk: Sexuality Education for Parents and Kids 4-7 years Old, which has sold over 80,000 copies to date. Ms. Chamlin received her BA in English Literature from Queens College/CUNY and her MS in Public Health/Community Health Education from Hunter College/CUNY. Her first job out of college in the 1960's was teaching illiterate rural residents of the Mississippi Delta to read during the civil rights era. In the 1980's, just as AIDS/HIV came to national attention, she was elected Director of the Westchester County AIDS Commission and served on the county's AIDS Education Committee. Susan resides in the 26th Senate District and has been on the Senator's staff since her 2002 election.
Carolyn Burke, Legislative Director
Carolyn in a 1986 graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. where she earned a B.S. in economics. She has worked for the New York State Senate since 1987, and as Senator Krueger's Legislative Director, oversees constituent and lobbyist meetings, and reviews, researches and introduces the Senator's legislation. Carolyn and her husband, Hugh, have been married for 17 years. They have two children, as well as a dog and cat.
Holly King Emma, Community Liaison/Scheduler
Holly received a B.S. in Nutrition from New York University, did field work in dietetics at The Rockefeller University and was a beverage analyst at the restaurant Windows on the World. After a 10-year sojourn working in technology, most recently for Pfizer Inc., she has returned to the food policy fold. Holly focuses on food policy; education/child welfare issues and Community Board 5. She is also Senator Krueger’s scheduler.
Sarra Hale-Stern, Community Liaison/Legislative Aide
Edline Jacquet, Community Liaison/Legislative Aide
Edline joined Senator Krueger's office in March, 2005, working primarily on housing and social services issues. Before coming to the District Office, she worked for several years at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a local settlement house based on the Upper East Side, on tenants rights, housing, social welfare, advocacy and community organizing. She also served as Borough Coordinator for the New York City Hunger Coalition's Food Stamp Access program providing technical assistance, analysis and organizing support to various emergency food providers throughout Queens. Edline has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of rent regulation and city, state and federal housing and social welfare policies. Edline has a BA from Columbia University.

Matthew Ides, Community Liaison/Legislative Aide
Matthew Ides has over eight years experience working for not-for-profits, elected officials, and planning organizations. He joined the staff of Senator Krueger in September of 2007. He works primarily on senior and health care issues. He is focused on improving quality of life and services for neighborhoods and communities throughout New York. Formerly he worked for Council Member David Yassky and was the Director of Housing and Economic Development at Midwood Development Corporation. He has a BA in History from University of California at Berkeley and a Masters in Urban Planning from Hunter College.
